Roger was son of Daniel & Mary and older brother to Russell. They lived in the village Northop Hall, Flintshire. It was a very close community and Daniels brothers lived next door. Between 1957-1964 Roger was educated in Engineering at Flintshire Technical College. During this time(1960) he began an apprentiship with The De Havilland Aeronautical Technical School(Now Areospace) who sponsored his education. His education was completed in 1964 when he Graduated and became a member of The Institution of Engineering Designers. Around 1966 Roger left Northop Hall to live and work in Bristol where he worked for De Havilland in an Areospace design office.
